PURPOSE : Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing the family with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood.
A totally free LPG kit including Gas Cylender, Gas Stove totally worth of 1600/- is given to the selected beneficiary under this scheme.
FOR WHOM : Ujjwala Yojana was initially launched for the Below ( Labharthi ) Poverty line families who’s having Yellow Ration Cards and for all S.C.& S.T. house holds who were not having Domestic Gas connection in their house. Presently the benefit of the scheme can be availed by OBC family not having domestic gas connection.
LAUNCHING DETAILS : Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 1st May 2016 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh.
HOW TO APPLY : Eligible Individuals will have to first procure the form which is available at all LPG outlets across the country and online at the PM Ujjwala Yojana website.

Applicant has to submit the duly completed form along with required documents to the LPG dealer of your area.

Applicant must submit detailed address, Jandhan Bank account no. and adhaar card no. along with application. For applicants in BPL category the Yellow Ration Card should be attached. For SC,ST and OBC applicant Cast Certificate should be attached.

The connection will be issued by Oil Marketing Companies if the Applicant is found eligible.

Individuals will also have to mention the type of cylinder that they require based on their necessities.
BENEFICIARIES : All BPL families having Yellow Ration Card and not having Domestic Gas Connection. All SC, ST and OBC families not having domestic Gas Connection.
